TAKE NOTE OF SOMETHING DIFFERENT

Year Two
SESSION THREE HUNDRED AND
FIFTY-FOUR

This note is about your deep but undirected desire to make real spiritual progress.  This desire or aspiration has passed into your normal thinking patterns in the physical cognitive faculty of your brain.  The brain then interprets this spiritual “hunger” as a need for information on how to progress.  The brain then further processes this “hunger”, trying to see how it can formulate the desire in a way that makes sense to the brain in the light of all the other desires, pressures and anxieties that operate in your inner emotional life.  Spirituality then becomes one of many psychological concerns that revolve through your brain.  Your brain-self then tries to use all of its various opinions, knowledge, personal experiences and so on as a conglomerate mechanism for self-enclosed, pseudo-independent “working on” spiritual issues and possibilities.  Your brain-self is then bent by this overall emotionally driven cognitive mechanism into asking questions about your progress which may or may not (A) convey real spiritual initiative from your Spirit or (B) merely show that the mind in which your questions originate is incapable of effectively handling and benefiting from a real response from an advanced evolutionary source.  Usually it is your brain-mind that is assuming certain things, such as:

  1. That your question is sincere and not just asking for reassurance or to pass the time.
  2. That the question is correctly formulated and actually expresses real evolutionary need.
  3. That your taking-in and handling mechanism is capable of understanding the answer and benefiting from it.
  4. That you have chosen the right time and place to ask the question.
