The ever-unfolding path of the spirit cannot be understood by the brain, which is overly active most of the time with its complicated reactions and plans.  The brain as such has no means of getting in touch with the spirit, nor can it determine a path for the spirit from various spiritual books it has read and compared.  The so-called “spiritual knowledge” in the brain is an impediment, a blockage and a confusion or disorder in spite of whatever order it is given.  Without direct self-knowledge in the spirit, there is no spiritual way forward, no magic or power-of-creation, no Divine awakening.

Intellect, the sharp and critical comparison of various accumulated teachings in the brain, cannot approach, contain or control the spirit.  The entire brain with all its cunning opinions and efforts about the spirit must actually become quiet and still. It must become speechless with silent knowing, which is heightened awareness.  Spiritual developments take place only in this way, but the brain in its insanity wants its confusions cleared-up, its questions answered, before it will agree to be silent.  This demand of the brain for certainty about the spiritual path is what is preventing the spiritual path. Spirit has another kind of certainty or faith when the brain is silent.  This other kind of certainty or faith is the Power-of-Intent, which is the authentic will of the spirit!  Authentic will of the spirit operates totally beyond the self-contradictory decisions, plans and commitments of the brain-self.
