TAKE NOTE OF SOMETHING DIFFERENT

Year Three
SESSION FIFTY-TWO

An Enlightened Zen Master alone can make Real Progress, whereas a typical Zen Student tries to make progress toward Enlightenment!  Enlightenment, you should know, is the immediate cessation of false progress, whether in Note-reading or any other idiom or technique of cognitive opportunism.

This Note may seem to be the end of this Session, but it is only an appearance of an ending.  For instance, where is this Session actually located after you believe it is over with?  How did it get where it is now located in your memory?  What is its real nature in your memory of it?  What makes it alive or dead for you in your own experiencing of it?  If you reject all this and try to totally forget it and put an end to it, is that totally or absolutely possible?  Will not some of these questions go on secretly gnawing at you no matter how much you cover them up?
