TAKE NOTE OF SOMETHING DIFFERENT

Year Three
SESSION TWO HUNDRED AND
FIFTY-SIX

Here and now you are mentally working with this Note by employing your brain.  This is a very basic thing.  It is called  “reading”.  You can keep up your plausible experience of being a physical bodily “reader” of an outer object called a “Note”.   Of course the meaning of this Note is not particularly objective.  The sensory experience seems to be objective, but the experience of interpretation, meaning and understanding seems to be subjective.  So, existentially there are two ontological regions here and now of your physical brain and your subtle mind.   This Note, like all Notes, is therefore simple yet complex.  What do you suppose all this is really about?

This Note is not about subject-object cognition in Note-reading.  It is about the subcognitive processing that maintains the immediate environment where you are reading or listening to this Note.  You do not have to think about the floor, for instance, but can cheerfully assume it is there.

This Note is about you.  What are you when you are thinking about a Note?  Are you exactly the same kind of being as when you are not thinking about a Note?   If you are the same, what is the sameness?  If you are different, what is the difference?  Would you say that your living body gives you your sameness and your shifting mental states give you your difference?  Is all this going to hold up as the truth of your being?  Do you want the truth of your being?
