TAKE NOTE OF SOMETHING DIFFERENT

Year Two
SESSION THREE HUNDRED AND SEVEN

The fundamental method of superhuman development, whether on Earth or on some other planet, has always been to adopt only that which is of real value from this or that source and not get caught-up in what may be a mere popular fad on the one hand or eccentric proclivity on the other hand.  And what is of real value is of value only when, where and with whom it is of value.  One must not imitate out of emotional awe or just copy others out of a tendency to imitate.  There is a trap laid for your emotional or imitative mind in any book, ritual, method or organization that seems to have something applicable to all and sundry regardless of their worthiness or level of consciousness or degree of real individuality.  You must beware of things that attract you strongly though incorrectly, which often attract (upon deep and honest self-observation) through secondary motives of sexual or social connections that have nothing to do with higher human development.  There are forms of adventurous personal gain in all this that can block your real potential for years, even a lifetime.

The crucial medicine for curing your greatest personal problem exists within your most real self, but you do not recognize it because of a lack of self-responsibility, just as the ailment has come from within yourself, though you do not want to see how that has happened.  Take it that genuine self-discovery is the answer to your hopes and prayers.  Decide that you are no longer just stupidly waiting for your lucky ship to come in.

This note, just like the last note, is not trying to tell you that you do not need a teacher, a spiritual guide.  Real self-responsibility may very well imply that you need to recognize and follow the directives of a teacher.  The Real Teacher will in fact accelerate your self-discoveries by pointing you into encounters and experiences that remove barriers to self-responsibility and self-realization.  The Real Student within will recognize the Real Teacher and accept what may be a contradictory or disturbing course of study.  Real Teachers operate with what Tibetans call, “Crazy Wisdom”.
