TAKE NOTE OF SOMETHING DIFFERENT

SESSION THREE HUNDRED AND ONE

If some stranger fails to become enlightened, fails in Yoga, fails to develop, fails to find the right way to freedom, bliss and immortality, do you concern yourself about it?  What is at stake in all this is your life, your own being in the total universe? Therefore, this note is now asking you: How can you help others when you do not know how to help yourself?  First do yourself and then we will see what use there may be for you with others.

Slow down! Pause right here and ask yourself, “Why do I rush from one thing to the next?   Am I making the right use of consciousness?  Can I even say I am fully and truly conscious?” Why just jump to the next note or to the next activity if you cannot question yourself properly?  Do you understand?

You are the sum total of all your experiences on all levels of your being. Without your experiences you are nothing.  Can you register this fact fully before the next note?

Krishnamurti says you must suspend the past, the old, to experience the present, the new.  But the present is the present only for the past, the new is the new only for the old, otherwise you could not experience the present, the new.  When you have a new experience, it becomes one of your lifetime of experiences. Krishnamurti would write down his experiences for us, and some of them were rather extraordinary and inspiring.  But he had to remember them in order to describe them to us.  If they were sheer and pure newness without the past, without memory, there was no Krishnamurti and nobody experienced anything.  So we must be very careful about dogmatic assertions about the new.  It is our accumulated set of experiences that can have a new experience.   This accumulation is not there to be destroyed, but to be transformed through the new to increase its quality of Being.   This is inner growth and higher development, which means that we enter into subtler, vaster experiences in states of Heightened Awareness similar to Krishnamurti’s, but without his dogmatic interpretations, without his authority.

We really should ask afresh: What is meditation?  What is higher awareness?   What is the discovery of new truth?  What is the absolute Self or Spirit?  What is God?  What is Divine state of super-consciousness? What is enlightenment? What is a human being?  What is Being?  What is Bliss of awareness of Being?  What is the highest Reality?  Is there a highest Reality? These kinds of questions have never been totally and finally answered by any teacher or spiritual authority.  This is a devastating truth we all have to face which can create an unlimited and rather frightening Void of uncertainty, of the Unknown, where few have the courage to go.  So, before you read further in the next note, ask yourself if you really have these powerful questions, if you have the courage to become utterly uncertain about yourself and everything.  There can be no leap into heightened awareness through clinging to complacent self-enclosed dogmas and beliefs.

This note is here for anyone who is really asking where they really are, where “here” is.

If you are not really asking what you should be asking, you are useless to yourself when you hear statements like this note.   Try to understand what is at stake for you in all this.   Develop some real self-starting personal initiative to inquire, explore, experiment, discover, rise up and develop.   Otherwise you are living a stupid little life of no real value for yourself or anyone you care about.  And before you read the next note, ask yourself how many times in how many different ways you have to be told all this so that you really get it and move on with it.

The next Note Session will bring up something so awesome that you better prepare yourself.
