TAKE  NOTE OF SOMETHING DIFFERENT
 

SESSION TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY-TWO

The more often you can come here to my Notes, the more I know it is you by direct feeling.  Your self-deception about all this has been going on for a very long time.  Your problem is that your vanity prevents you from seeing the truth of what you have become.  To overcome your problem would require that you question all your assumptions about yourself and your past decisions that have led you into the cul-de-sac you are now in. You should seriously consider questioning yourself for real before carrying on with the next note of today’s session.

 

This note is here for you in regard to why you are reading it.  In truth, you know you do not have everything you need from the old, usual sources you repeatedly turn to.   You really do need “something different”.  So you should now face this more fully and squarely than you ever have in your life so far!

 

You are no doubt concerned about all kinds of spiritual, occult, social, psychological and evolutionary issues of yourself and the humanity of which you are a member.  All these issues are clearly orbiting around your personal problem, frustration or ambitions.  This entire cognitive system of your multiple self-centered concerns is your starting point for learning, and, until you understand how learning really works, you are not going to develop very well.  You may try to pretend to others and yourself that you are developed or developing but it won’t work because something in you knows the truth about you.  It is that something that pretence cannot fully suffocate in you that is the true reader of this note.   The true reader is where learning will take place within genuine higher awareness.

 

This note is about the uselessness of most academic and cognitive scientific theories of learning.   The cause of this uselessness is rooted in the misunderstanding that learning is a thing of the rational brain of a human being rather than a thing of the whole of the human being, which includes the brain, but encompasses the entire body, mind and spirit of the human being. Do not therefore go on to the next note without an awakening to the learning issue in the whole of your being.

 

What we are doing here in this note (and most others) is an ancient technique in a modern format.   This technique has been virtually lost, both in the Middle and Far East, but we can resurrect it by giving it the kind of attention it needs, which is an extremely flexible attention of wide bandwidth beyond both supposedly “independent” ego and the dependent, indoctrinated believer who follows a particular leader or tradition to the exclusion of all pertinent truth from beyond the fixation.

 

The need for an expansive flexibility does not imply that you should just excitedly hop around from one superficial encounter with a teaching to lots of superficial encounters with all sorts of teachings.  Whenever you encounter a teaching you must go deeply into it with greatly concentrated serious intelligence, just as the honey-bee gets her fill of the nectar without being socially or psychologically trapped in the flower through identification with it.  Any insects living in the flower are not bees and cannot make honey.  Make sure you really have this balance of depth-and-freedom before you go on to the next note session.
