New readers should
begin with Session One.
This note
is about beginning again at the foundational beginning of
being a reader of all this. You are experiencing yourself
as a body in a room. Or you experience yourself as
a brain and neurosystem “inside” the body. Or
you experience yourself as an invisible, formless mind that
is using a body and brain to sit in a room and read notes. So,
you have some theory of your presence, whether you have thought
is out or not. In modern philosophy, this is called
the “mind/body problem”. It is a “problem” because
we cannot answer all the pertinent questions about our experience
of being ourselves. But most of us are very dull and
distracted, so the pertinent questions do not get asked.
Instead, it was just another “note” as we move
ahead into the next note.
In the here and now you
are dealing with this note, but
remaining unaware of many serious implications of your presence
here.
This note
is about how you somehow remain present throughout all things
you read or think about. Do you remain as a brain-in-a-jar
or are you a psychic presence making use of your brain? Where
is your continuity in being a being who continues to exist? Is
it substantial or ethereal? Are you the tangible machine
or the intangible ghost in the machine? Will you read
notes in dreams or when you are dead? Will you inquire
into the real nature of your being in your dreams or when
you are dead?
This note
is about how serious you are as a reader about the true nature
of your cognitive existence as a being of some sort. Can
you question your assumptions about your actual state of
being as such? What, in fact, do you believe a “state
of being” is?
Before you read the next note,
let yourself be fully present in this note. Try
mentally repeating “I am here now” and see what
it means.
What is the full scope
of your being here now as the totality of immediate experiencing
and thinking? Before you read the next note,
can you connect the relationship of experiencing and thinking
in your being here and now?
What do you experience,
if anything, when you question the meaning of being and reading
in the here and now? Please answer this directly in
yourself before you read the next note.
Between your living physical
situation and your possible levels of being beyond your body,
there is the reading of this note
with a questioning intelligence reflected actively in your
right forebrain. Can you feel your questioning self
as a golden orb subtly embedded in your right forebrain which
shines in your right eye? Try to have a glimpse of
this subtle fact before you read the next note. Raj
Yogis can perceive this kind of thing, so you
might want to begin to cultivate such perceptions. They are
at least extremely logical possibilities, are they not?
Since questioning is
itself both physical and spiritual, both in the
brain and beyond the brain, it
may be of crucial importance for your personal evolution,
both in life and in your soul. Do not read the next note
session if you do not agree with this.
